Record heat, crowds drive offseason boom in international travel – CNBC

Shoulder season travel is doing well, and that means good news for everyone. The longer an airline can justify a long-haul route during the year, the more airplanes it can justify buying. I chatted with Leslie Josephs about it.

    OFF SEASON BOOM TRAVEL
    Shane Tackett (CEO AS) CNBC interview. Parents taking children out of school to travel off season, “Yeah, Let’s go somewhere fun, & you’ll catch up on school when you get back”
    Professional educators will tell parents missing school to travel to BOS (Revolutionary War) DCA & CHS (Civil War) LHR (World History Museums)
    FCO (Roman Empire), VIE (Music), Student education a positive value. If the Travel is “FUN” days missing school is Disneyland, Maui or PVR LAS, zero education value.
    CEO Tackett accountant (looking backwards at last qtr financial number) & a D minus in parenting skills, needs a reset on being a visionary looking forward like Ben Minicucci CEO AAG. Let the accounting department take care of accounting.
    Maybe even Travel to EDI BGO AMS (Viking Age Empire) & Travelers to NRT ICN, depends if Shane & Ben understands the large population of the SEA world travelers.

    Great podcast this week! I have to make a pedantic correction though. You said “back when the UK was part of Europe”… the UK, although it left the EU, is in fact still part of Europe :)
