Cranky Dorkfest is Tomorrow

Cranky Dorkfest

It’s here! It’s here! Cranky Dorkfest is one day away.

Hopefully many of you are already boarding planes that are LAX-bound, where the weather is good as usual. For those who still haven’t made up your mind, here are the details so you can make the right decision and come hang out.

  • What: Cranky Dorkfest 2022
  • When: Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 11am to 1pm PT
  • Where: The park across from the In-N-Out at LAX
  • Who: All are welcome, and there is no cost
  • Why: Because you like watching airplanes and talking shop with fellow airline dorks
  • How: Usually on an airplane, but you can drive, take a long walk, tie a bunch of balloons to your house until you get airborne… up to you

Once again, NYC Aviation will be holding its SpotLAX as well, so there will be no excuse for you not showing up.

See you tomorrow!

  1. Although I can’t be there, I just wanted to wish you both good luck. We’re all counting on you.

    1. But I will put in a plea for a Dulles Dorkiest someday. Could also explore the exceptional Udvar-Hazy air and space museum located at Dulles for a day of planey goodness.

Then zip over to DCA to do some spotting at Gravelly Run along the Potomac What that lacks in aircraft diversity (nothing but RJs, 737s and 319/320s) it makes up for in scenery! Sadly no In N Out burger though.

      1. Bill – Don’t forget the new Air and Space museum on the mall that reopens in Oct. There’s plenty to do there for sure, I can relive my college days.

  2. Will be there in Spirit. Or should I say I will be there in Jet Blue?

Meanwhile I’ll just loop the 2019 Dorkfest highlights on my computer…

  3. Waiting for my ride to the airport as I type this. WN rather than DL this time. See y’all in several hours!

    1. Parking Spot Sepulveda shuttle (not Century) and walk…if they’re not asking for proof of parking. Can also walk from LAX Lot C. It’s further, but “legal.”
