Ontario airport may get direct flights to Europe by summer 2022San Gabriel Valley Tribune
Am I bullish on Norse Atlantic flying from Oslo to Ontario? Oh, hell no. But it is just a matter of time until Ontario gets something sustainable to Europe. It probably will not be from this airline.

  1. If Norse is looking at ONT-LGW…Maaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyybe. Still a long shot. Paris in the summer? See LGW. OSL? Ummmmmm OK!

  2. Glad to see that Cranky isn’t afraid to give honest opinions, even at the risk of ruffling the feathers of advertisers like ONT.

Agree that Norse Air’s proposed OSL-ONT flight seems like a play for the Scandinavian traveler, not the SoCal traveler. OSL really isn’t that convenient (in terms of saving great circle miles) on flights to Western Europe (perhaps more so for flights to Turkey and towards the Middle East), and “Norway/Scandinavia”, “787”, and “low cost” are three words that are rarely heard in the same sentence, though perhaps SoCal is cheap compared to Scandinavia.

From what I recall, the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, etc) has a lot of Scandinavian heritage, but I assume that most of that is so many generations back that that VFR demand would be negligible.
