It’s that day again, but this year it just feels different. The economic carnage that followed 9/11 now pales in comparison to what COVID-19 has wrought. And when you think about the 3,000 people who died on 9/11, it just sounds insignificant compared to the 190,000 Americans who have died from COVID-19 and related illnesses in the last eight months. Of course, it is not insignificant in any way, and that’s why it’s so important to take time to remember this year.
As always, following the lead set by Holly Hegeman (PlaneBusiness) so many years ago, I’m honoring those on-duty crewmembers who were murdered that day nineteen years ago by printing their names.
