Some Enhancements to the Blog and a Request

It had been awhile since I went rooting around looking for new and interesting plugins for the site, and I think I’ve found a couple good ones. Let me know what you think, and most importantly, let me know if there’s some functionality you’d like to see that you don’t see here today.

  • Customized Email Titles – Those of you who subscribe by email (more than 1,100 now) were probably just as annoyed as I was that the email subject was always “The Cranky Flier.” Fortunately, the functionality now exists for me to have it display the post title in the subject line. Hooray! (And if you aren’t an email subscriber yet, sign up for free.)

  • Quote and Reply – Now instead of having to bring in people’s names or type your own quotes from the discussion, you can click the “quote” and “reply” links at the bottom of each comment and it will automatically populate the comment box at the bottom.

I already did, to be able to edit and/or delete the comment one has left.

The only way I can do this is if I require people to sign up for a user account before commenting. Then you could go in and edit your comment, but I’m not willing to restrict commenting that way. If you need something changed, just email me.

Did I screw something up or did you mean for comments?

I found one plugin, but every time I try to install it, I get a fatal error. Hmm.
