We are a mere three days away from this year’s Cranky Dorkfest on Saturday, September 13, and that means it is time to get ready. What do you need to do? Let me help…
1) If you are coming to the LAX Ramp Visit, plan your ride in advance
- RSVPs for the LAX ramp visit have now closed, but we are still trying to clear more people off the waitlist and will email you if that happens
- The ramp visit is available from 8am to 12pm at the Flight Path Museum at 6661 Imperial Hwy, Los Angeles, CA 90045 and you can come and go as you please during those times
- If you are driving, you have been emailed the details about where to park and how the shuttle bus will run
- NOTE: If you drive by the Flight Path and see an open spot in their lot, do NOT take it. They will require parking passes to use their limited space there.
- We will have static displays from multiple airlines, including one special livery planned that I’m excited about (and hope doesn’t get bumped by any operational issues leading up to it)
- LAX is providing Randy’s Donuts for all without charge, and the DJ will be there again playing music
2) RSVP for the Cranky Dorkfest Main Event if you want a raffle ticket
- The Cranky Dorkfest Main Event will be held, as always, from 11am to 1pm at the park across the street to the south of the In-N-Out Burger at 9149 S Sepulveda Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045
- The raffle is planned for 12pm, but this year you must have pre-registered (no cost) to be entered to win prizes that airlines and other companies have generously donated
- If you have signed up already as part of your ramp visit registration, you are entered in the raffle
- If you have not signed up, you are still welcome at Cranky Dorkfest, but you must RSVP to get into the drawing
- RSVPs for the Main Event will close tonight, Wednesday, September 10, at 11:59pm PT
- We will pick names in advance and announce the winners at the event
- You must be present to win
And that’s really all you need to know. If you have questions, you can always email us at cf@crankyflier.com or just say “hey you” on Saturday when you see me walking around.
For those who will be hanging around with the NYCAviation team for their excellent events during the rest of the weekend, you can get those details here.
I look forward to seeing everybody in just a few short days!
