Cranky Talk – JetAmerAlaska Partners In The Sky!
Cranky Talk is back again, and this week, Dave and I talk about American’s partnerships with both Alaska and JetBlue. Why? Well, why not? American and JetBlue recently announced a big expansion of their Northeast Alliance while Alaska and American continue to cozy up.
With more travelers likely being exposed to these partnerships over time, we thought it worth putting them under the microscope. So, join us as we take a look at exactly what’s going on here.

Good to hear two grown men briefly talk about mental health and admit that they’ve been to therapy, even if in connection with a sponsor. That takes courage and the stigma around men seeking help for mental health issues is definitely one that our society needs to better address.
Also, since you brought up Kansas City as a (not) “leisure” destination… There are actually a fair number of businesses with significant operations in the area, and outside of VFR traffic, I agree that few people are probably flying into MCI for leisure trips of 3+ days. However, if you are ever out that way and looking for something to do besides the usual BBQ + baseball, the World War I museum there is quite spectacular and moving, and there are a few aviation museums there (including one with a Super Connie, IMHO the most beautiful airliner of all time) that get good reviews as well. Also worth checking out the Arabia Steamboat Museum, which features a steamboat that hit a tree snag in the Missouri River and sank, and which is rather well preserved.
Thanks for the suggestions. Beyond the regular baseball games, I also really want to visit the Negro Leagues Museum. There is plenty to do there, but it’s just not a big leisure destination in general.
The TWA Museum features an MD-80. Of course, we all know you detest Douglas products! (Being facetious.)
