Beirut Airport Ready to Reopen

BEY - Beirut

Now that the cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah has held up for a couple of days, Beirut airport is getting ready to reopen to traffic.

The Daily Star of Lebanon reports that the airport was putting the final touches on yesterday and could be open again tomorrow (Thursday, Aug 16), if the politicians are so inclined.

I’ve heard rumors that BMED (British Airways partner) will begin flights again on Friday and that Royal Jordanian is restarting flights as well, but I have yet to be able to confirm any of this. For now, flights have been operating into Damascus, Syria instead.
