Aboard the ‘hijacked’ plane to Minsk – Politico
Can you even imagine being on this airplane? This is a damn crime, and now it keeps escalating with Russia getting involved too. I’m very curious to see how this plays out.

Russia’s behavior here, supporting Belarus, makes me think they wouldn’t have qualms about doing the same thing if it suited them. That makes me fear airlines might have to avoid Russian airspace, which would of course make flights from Europe and North America to Asia basically impossible, except west coast to Japan. Avoiding Belarus and parts of the Ukraine is hard enough.
The same goes for the good ol’ U-S-A with the Evo Morales flight.
And no doubt that would be a good way to taunt the US into another unnecessary global conflict.
I’m waiting to see if Lithuania and Poland ban Russian airliners from their airspace, which would force the frequent flights from Moscow to Kaliningrad to either risk being shot down or to travel a circuitous route out over the Baltic Sea, as traveling to Kaliningrad Oblast from the rest of Russia by land requires transiting at least two other countries.
