One way or another, the baby will be showing up in the next few days. That means it’s time to take a break. I’m planning on putting up guest posts for the next two weeks, and there are some really good ones lined up. I might stop in myself if something comes up and I get the urge to write, but otherwise, I’ll see you guys back here again on January 23.

“This has never been an issue for me since I rarely check bags, though that’s about to change with a mini-Cranky on the way. (That’s right, I just dropped that casually into the post.) But it’s still not that much to check a bag” So there we go from the horse’s mouth!
Either way, I just hope he’s not a cranky Cranky!

You’ll have time to pop in like during the 40 hours of labor when you have nothing to do but get yelled at by your wife for everything wrong in the world….lol

Congrats and much happiness to your growing family, Brett! Fatherhood is awesome. And hey, it’s never too early to start training the next generation of airline dorks. My 3-month-old has already had several airplane lessons!

Congratulations! I just survived my first airline trip with a four and two year old…we did okay but it definitely changes how you look at travel once the little ones join the family.

One of the greatest days of your life is coming soon. Enjoy every minute … and remember it just gets better and better from here. I thought I could never love anyone as much as I love my wife – and after 40 years I know I can’t.
Then our two daughters came along and there was just so much more love to give – love in a totally different way – but just as powerful. Talk about a reason to get up in the morning – these two little girls were it
When our two grandsons arriaved (1) I forgot how a kid could be in CONSTANT motion and could NEVER run out of questions, and (2) the best part is there was still so much more love to give.
I wish you only the VERY best as you and your new family. And remember, if Grandpa and Grandma seem to walk a little taller with a little more spring in their stop and twinkle in their eye – it’s just that they are being a Grandpa and Grandma.
Terry

Congrats to you both. I vote for Crankette if it is a girl, Crankster if it is a boy, but it really doesn’t matter. Either will be the greatest thing for you both. Enjoy the time off.
p.s. for the next 12+ years, they will be family “trips”. Family “vacations” will return when they get into middle school and older. :)
