It should be ok if it's close - they usually don't weigh the carry on as strictly as they do checked bags, but there's no guarantee of that. Does anyone know how strict they are on this? can I put my heavey stuff into my carry on BIG purse then transfer it back to my suitcase after they weigh it? or should I resign myself to checking my carryon... I really dont want to check it in as I am flying LA to Frankfurt then changing to planes to fly to Rome...
