  1. Lufthansa carryon luggage policy states your carryon cannot be over 17.5 pounds… my carry on suticase weighs 9 pounds… Does anyone know how strict they are on this? can I put my heavey stuff into my carry on BIG purse then transfer it back to my suitcase after they weigh it? or should I resign myself to checking my carryon… I really dont want to check it in as I am flying LA to Frankfurt then changing to planes to fly to Rome… I want my luggage with me.. any tips are appreciated

  2. Aniz – I would just do my best to reduce the amount of weight you bring onboard. It should be ok if it’s close – they usually don’t weigh the carry on as strictly as they do checked bags, but there’s no guarantee of that.
