I wonder how much of this is just an effect of other carrier’s lousy performance and how much of it is US Airways actually performing better. I had heard somewhere that US Airways increased their block time slightly (and bumped up their flying day a bit.) to run a more ontime operation..

Correction, Cranky: The article states they were #1 among the 10 largest carriers in the nation. Frontier came in at #1 among the non-Hawaiian carriers at 79.95% on 8,424 flights. Pretty good for a bad weather hub in Denver. http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/stories/2008/02/04/daily15.html
