The planes went from Phoenix and Vegas to Honolulu and then on to Nagoya, Japan. Needless to say, the route was a bloodbath and the authority was sold to Northwest. They also flew the 747s to JFK instead of leaving them on the ground during layovers. I believe the late night flight from LAS to PHX, the employee shuttle, was also on a 747.
